What is Kakamega Forest and why visit?

It's Kenya's only tropical rainforest — the eastern remnant of the great Guineo-Congolian forest — famous for ~367 bird species (about 36 found nowhere else in Kenya), primates, butterflies and guided nature/night walks. It's the county's headline attraction.
